iPad not finding wifi

Sorry to bother you. I am unable to connect to our WiFi on my iPad. This only happened a couple of days ago. Our WiFi appears to be working correctly--my iPhone and Beeland's iPad connect fine and your signal boosters are all working. The WiFi settings on Beeland's iPad appear to be different than mine, but I thought the connection was automatic. Any suggestions?

Here are a couple of things to try. If your iOS device has at least attempted to connect or shows connected but no internet, you can choose to “forget this network” then try agin.

Settings/Wifi/choose the “i” to the right and select “forget this network”.

If that doesn’t solve the issue, try the following:

Settings/General/Reset/Reset network Settings

After that’s done, turn off your iPad and restart. Now go try to connect to your network. You may be prompted to enter the password.

email lost after imap conversion.

I wanted to let you know that when you converted my email address from POP to IMAP and deleted the POP account I lost all my emails that were in the account, inbox, sent, etc.  They were deleted both on my computer and on the server.  The service provider can't locate them either.  I backed up my computer the day before you arrived and again the morning 10th.  So the emails should be on the Seagate correct?  Can you advise how I retrieve them?
___________

You should be able to recover those emails.  If they were ever stored locally on your computer (and I believe your pop mail was) the best way to go about it would be to open the mail application first, then choose “enter time machine”.  You’ll be presented with a spacey interface that will allow you to scroll back in time to the last known day you had the emails.  There you should be able to restore an entire folder at a time.

___________

So if I restore the emails, will it affect my current emails?  Will it add emails from a month ago that have been deleted filed, etc?  Ideally I'd like to go in and cut and paste the emails from this particular account +200 emails.
___________

You should be able to use the command key to select only the emails you want to restore. You could also select an entire folder on the right hand column to restore as well. Restoring emails within time machine should not have any effect on current email in mail.

Can Geek Squad update my mac?

Hey Scotty  thought might advise on upgrading my laptop.  Can Geeksquad do a good job on the macbook pro 13 inch 2007 model.  You set mine up then and wonder if 300 including labor is fair or should I get them at Southpark to help. this one has been slowing a lot lately and wondered if a new drive and more memory would be advised.???/
___________

I would advise against geek squad doing anything with your mac. $300 is about average for a new drive and ram but the Apple Store would not assist in increasing the size of your drive. I do offer that service but with that being said, the cost of upgrading your 2007 laptop may be prohibitive considering its age.

CS3 stopped working after data transfer

Hi Scotty.
So I called Adobe and they gave me the licensing number for CS3 after my data transfer caused a deserialization . The problem is I believe I downloaded it from the internet and don ‘thane a disk, and cannot find one if I did.

Of course they no longer support CS3 so if I want their help I need to pay them. Plus they aren’t even supporting CS5 anymore,  (I have that as well)

Is there any way you know of to get in and and up and running?
___________

I believe that CS3 was only available as a disc install at the time of it’s distribution. I think the more relevant issue would be to consider moving to CS5 or later permanently and abandoning CS3. I know you have reasons for wanting to continue to use it but it’s only a matter of time before CS3 would stop working anyway due to operating system updates.

I don’t have a solution for you. You could go back through your email to find proof of purchase. If I am wrong and you were able to download it that the time of purchase, then you may be able to locate the original email and possibly log in to Adobe’s site to redownload the suite. But as I said, I don’t think CS3 was ever distributed as a download.
