How to scan multiple pages into one pdf file

I’ve been practicing the scan routine and just realized that I didn’t ask you about emailing a document that is longer than just a single page. Not sure how to do this. Thanks.
___________

You'll want to combine multiple documents into 1 pdf file. There are ways to do this after they've been scanned but luckily image provides a way to allow you to scan several docs then combines them into one pdf file before saving it or emailing.

Use the checkbox seen in the example below to combine all the docs into one pdf file.

Once the document is saved, a good way to tell the difference between a single pdf file versus a pdf with multiple pages is to look for the black rib on the left side of the pdf icon itself. Example below.

If you've already scanned multiple pdfs and need to combine them, there's a way to do that as well but image capture would not play a role in that task.

How do I print from image capture?

I'd like to understand how to print using image capture from my computer? Are u able to tell me quickly how to print from email or internet through image capture?
___________

Image Capture is not a program that you would normal use to print a document. Image Capture is a program designed to pull images from a device such as a scanner. It can also be used for other purposes like recovering images from an iPhone. But the major purpose of image capture is to simply scan items with a scanner.

As far as email: to print an image that has been emailed to you, you can double click on the image first. The image will open in the appropriate program. Example: word documents will open in Microsoft word, pictures would open in Preview, PDFs would open in preview. Once Preview is open you can then choose Print from the dropdown menu or command+P will also do it.

Please let me know if you have a more specific question.

Where is image capture?

I tried to scan a document today but the Image Capture Icon is not on my 13”mac, did you forget to upload it on that computer? Also, I do not know how scan to to the computer from the printer, there is not an option to select my computer, only my husbands. I need more coaching on this.

Image capture is a part of the Operating system and is on every Mac. Just like Safari, Photos, Mail, or Calendar. You can search for it by click on the magnifying glass in the top right corner of your screen and typing “image capture” or you can also find it by looking in the applications folder. Once it’s open you can right click on the icon in the dock and choose to “keep in dock”. It will then stay in the dock even when you quit the program.
