How do I upload from iMovie to Youtube?

One question - is it easy to convert a iMovie to YouTube or Vimeo video?  If so, how do I do that?
___________

Yes. It's pretty easy. In iMovie, choose to export it to your desktop. It will save out as an mp4. An mp4 video can then be uploaded to either YouTube or Vimeo. While both of those services will take other file formats, mp4 is your best bet.

Don't use the built in YouTube upload service within iMovie. It's messy. Better to use save it (export) as a video file then upload it yourself. You'll need a free account with either service then on either of those pages,

In youtube's instance, you'll click the camera in the top right corner of the page and choose "upload" as seen below:

Should I move to Verizon?

I wish to change to Verizon. Do u recommend ?Also should I get the 14 as part of the change ?
___________

The grass is always greener on the other side of the septic tank” -Erma Bombeck. I work with people every day who hate ATT and want to move to Verizon. I meet people every day that hate Verizon and want to move to ATT. I don’t really have an opinion on which provider is better to be honest.

Regarding upgrading to a newer phone, unless you just want the newest phone, there’s no reason to purchase a new device just because you’re moving to a different carrier. Back in the old days a phone could only work with one carrier but today’s phones can move between carriers easily.

So that just leaves the real question…do you want a nicer camera that shoots better in low light? Because that’s the only valid reason to upgrade from a 12 to a 14 in my opinion.

This keep popping up. Is this normal?

This does seem to be a valid request from the operating system. It's asking your permission to make a change, most likely a password update or a request to update a small part of a program of some sort. Should be harmless. I'd enter the password in this case and move on. If it repeatedly over and over asks, then there's something else going on we'd need to address.

Where did our pre iPhone pictures go?

I wanted to reach out and ask you a question about iPhotos. Originally everything was loaded under husband's Apple ID. Since we separated out my ID and daughter's, I’ve noticed none of the photos are loading on our desktop or laptop. Husband has them on his phone, but they aren’t appearing anywhere else.

I know we have to go in and share photos now that everything is separate so whatever I take on my phone will stay under my ID, while backing up to iCloud.

How do we recover the old photos that we had downloaded from cameras (not Apple devices) for years ago and any Apple photos back to the computers?

___________

Apart from the sharing feature, you're asking about pictures that had been manually added to someone's Photos library in the past via a digital camera (not iPhone). Those pictures should still be associated to which ever Apple ID was using iCloud when they were originally added. Assuming you added them via a computer into Photos, that would be the computer that would be associated to the Apple ID. However, it may be that he was originally logged in on your computer when those pictures were added to the library. Regardless, if they ever made it into the Photos library, they would not have been removed under any circumstances even if you logged out of one Apple ID and into another.

1. Can you log in at iCloud.com under his old Apple ID and see the pictures in question there? When you do log in at icloud.com his phone will be sent a 6 digit code that you'll need to complete the login but once there, can you see the old pictures? If so, then they would also be visible on his phone as well. If this is the case, then sharing is the obvious next step and apple has a new method of sharing between spouses/families that's working pretty well so far.

2. If you don't see them there, were they actually ever inside the Photos (iPhoto) application on a computer at any time in the past? If so, there's a chance they're still in an old abandoned library. If that's the case, then they can be recovered as well.

apple music not syncing on family plan

I was wondering if you could help me with my Apple Music subscription. I opened the app today, and all my music was gone. However, my mom has all the music on her phone. She updated the payment information, and when I opened the app again I saw only her music. I tried to add a song to the library, but it keeps asking me to subscribe even though my mom and I are sharing a plan. Is there something else that I need to do in order to have all my music back on my phone?
___________

Two types of plans…individual and family. Each has different price points. First thing to do is determine which plan you're on. You can find that info by going to Settings then touch your name. On the next screen you'll see "subscriptions". Apple Music Family is $16.99 a month. You'll want to check your mom's as well. If you see the $16.99 charge then the most likely explanation is that you're accidentally signed into the wrong family member. On your phone, go to settings, touch your name then select "media and purchases. Then select "view account". After entering your password for your Apple ID you will see what account you're logged into. Hope this helps.

If Time Machine was running at that time, there's a good chance you'll be able to recover it. Two methods to using Time Machine… 1. Apple's space warp interface way. 2. Manually looking for it. I prefer 2. Although it will require you have an idea of where you would have kept the file. Open the Time Machine hard drive and you'll see one folder "backups.backupdb". Drill down in that folder until you see a very long list of dates. Each date represents a backup. Pick a date close to when you think you still had the document in your possession. Next, drill down into whatever folder you think it may have been stored in. If you don't see it in that particular folder, try going to an older folder. Repeat the process until you've found the file. If option 2 doesn't work, then it's up to Apple's silly space warp interface. With the old drive plugged up, select "enter Time Machine" from the menu bar under the Time Machine icon. On the right side of the weird space window, you'll see a time line. Go back to the date you may have had it and it will scroll back in time with whatever window is open. Usually a finder window is all you'll need. Search for the file name or term within the file and Time Machine may detect where the file exists in its history.

I am looking for an old document… likely 2014 or 2015 and I have the old external drive Time Machine back ups from then. How hard would it be to find an individual document on those?
