Should I check originals or optimized?

On my Photos: In Photo-General : Top 4 options are checked (Auto video/Live Photos,Show Holidays, Show memories, Import)
In Photo-ICloud. : Download Originals - unchecked
Optimize: is checked
Share Albums: is checked
I do pay for $2.99 for iCloud Storage each month …….so would I be safe to check “Download Originals” ?

I touched on this in the email I sent out. I prefer people check optimized on the phone or iPad but originals on their computer. You don’t have to of course. But if you don’t have originals on your computer, that means you’re relying completely on the cloud as your storage.
